Turning pressure into engineering decisions

Bonding a sensor is the easy part. Placement, encapsulation, data definition and interpretation are what decide whether the system actually answers your question.

Scenario 01

Blade surface pressure monitoring

Aerodynamic loads on a blade appear as surface pressure. But blades are long, strongly curved composite structures — conventional pressure taps are limited in point density, installation cost and surface conformity.

A 0.3 mm piezoresistive film changes the order of magnitude: without altering the blade profile, a single sheet carries 4096 points at 7.6 × 8.1 mm pitch, producing a real pressure field rather than isolated readings.

We deliver a path from sensor placement to conclusion — not just a piece of film.

Design validation

Compare measured pressure with CFD and structural simulation to validate boundary conditions.

Load assessment

Identify concentration sections and extreme conditions for structural review.

Condition monitoring

Long-term installation tracking how pressure signatures evolve over service time.

Event replay

Data retained around anomalies to support root cause analysis afterwards.

Process

Four stages, from drawing to data

STEP 01

Requirement & layout

Define sections, point density, range and monitoring period; produce the layout drawing and cable routing.

STEP 02

Film & encapsulation

Custom film geometry and array pattern, adhesive layer and surface protection engineered for the duty cycle.

STEP 03

Bonding & commissioning

Surface preparation, bonding, curing, acquisition setup and baseline calibration with an initial data snapshot.

STEP 04

Analysis & handover

Platform visualisation, condition comparison, report delivery and support during design reviews.

More Scenarios

The same capability, reused elsewhere

Industrial equipment & robotics

Grip force control, assembly surface inspection and fixture load analysis. Full-surface arrays replace multiple discrete sensors.

  • Grip force closed loop and damage prevention
  • Assembly pressure uniformity
  • Fixture load distribution

Structural health & rail

Long-term measurement of contact pressure, wheel-rail forces and load states on structural components.

  • Long-term contact pressure records
  • Anomaly event replay
  • Load state assessment

Medical & rehabilitation (exploratory)

Seat and foot pressure distribution, contact pressure on rehabilitation equipment — where conformity matters most.

  • Foot pressure mapping
  • Contact comfort assessment

Not on the list?

If you can define the surface and how many points you need, we can assess feasibility.

Describe your case

Start with a small validation, then scale

We recommend a single section with a limited point count first — decide with real data.
